POR-15 is good, buy the kit that suits the size of the tank to be sealed.
Do one tank at a time unless you have some good help.
Follow the instructions in the kit and take your time, cleaning, etching and rotating the tank.
The first two leaky tanks I sealed sealed well, I got slack on the third tank and still a leak.

good luck

Try Flowliner tank seal.
I used it on my bike with no problems.
You get it from C Wyldes in Leeds.

Hi there, I have udes POR 15 after a lot of searchign user's expereince and think it is the best, ultimate sealer. Hardly any instructions come with it though. So I posted my own experience using it which perhaps you will find helpful. Search for por15 on this forum and my nickname if interested.

Cheers,

I read your origional post Marinocaliterna which was very
helpful, though I do have two questions as I'll be needing
to do this with my tank in the near future..

As I understand it, the sealer coats the entire inside surface
of the tank and seals the fuel from any rusty bits dropping
into it and plug up any small leaks around the seams.. So...

A) You need to turn the tank slowly around to coat all
surfaces, so do you need to do this until it dries as I
imagine if not, it will all fall back to the bottom?

B) Some rust may still be on the inside, but once coated,
will the rusting process be stopped, as I assume no
oxygen will be present as it will be sealed from any
air in the tank during usage?

ATB, Nick.

The Gold tank sealer that I sell is a single component ready to use tank sealer formulated for metal, aluminum and fibre glass tanks. It is formulated to stop rust and corrosion by forming a flexible, tough, fuel impervious coating while simultaneously sealing pinholes and weld seams. The Kbs prep products that you use before are formulated with a unique oxygen-block technology which reduces the occurrence of flash rust by over 80% and extends the rust-free storage times by leaving a temporary protective coating in addition to a zinc phosphate film.

Hello RustShop,
Not wishing to sound rude at all, and I'm sure your product is as effective as it sounds, but this description sounds like sales patter....

Could you explain "unique oxygen-block technology" and how
it prevents the re-occurence of rust?
Many thanks.
