Just scored this little thing: a 1987 Mk3 Gamma. Almost completely original, just needs some TLC and maybe later a proper engine Twisted Evil

Unbelievable how tiny and light this is compared to my RD! Up front it looks like a whole lotta Rosie but when you sit on it that feeling is gone! Laughing

Wow, the dash panel is identical to an RG500!! I have been trying to get a new foam surround for my RG500 for quite a while, looks like I could fit an RG250 Mk3 dash!!

Rich I've found CMS's site useful for part numbers and diagrams, not ordered from them though. Did you know some import models have a fuel gauge? Mine has as there's a sender in the tank and a gauge in the same dial as the temp. I bought a spare tank off ebay and the bottom is blanked where the sender would have been. Tom Mac's got the clocks now as I used Yamaha ones on mine.

The RG400 which was only sold in Japan had the fuel gauge in the temp gauge and a sender in the tank, the RG500 never had the fual gauge. Knowing how quickly my RG empties it's tank, a fuel gauge would just make me cry, every time I looked at it, it would be dropping!! I prefer to put 4 gallons of fuel in it and then 80 miles later have it die and know that I need to look for a petrol station quickly!! rather than see the gauge just free fall to empty over a 1 hour period... That's just me.. Embarassed

How come?

Thanks for the link Rich! Will check it out.
Just had the right hand carb apart, looked quite clean! Gave it good cleaning and put back together, now the struggle to get it back in again!

Spent some time cleaning the carbs and the rest of the bike and it looks & runs much better now! A few bits that aren't that good (fairing is cracked round the left hand mirror mount, wheels look like they have fungus on them and a few marks in the paint) but that doesn't bother me really, the bike is very original and well preserved. Just a new set of tyres to put on (decided to get some Pirelli MT75's) and some fresh fork & gearbox oil to put in and then...roll on summer! Cool

For the winter I have already acquired some bits to keep me busy...VJ21 front forks & brakes, VJ22 front wheel...just need a rear wheel. I have discovered the early GSX750F has 4,5x17 rear wheel, that should fit nicely in there Very Happy

Rich I think you may have trouble getting a 4.5 wheel in the stock arm. Mine has a 4.00 wheel from an SZR660 and there's very little gap between the tyre and swingarm and I've gone down to a 140 tyre. For reference, the arm only measures 200m across the wheel end
