My reed cages are shot, one of the many POs took a file to them leaving the rubber sealing edges in rag order.

Is it worth enlarging the opening and going for valvie cages and reeds?
Will valve v-force reeds fit?

TIA

Valve V force will fit but you have to make the inlet bigger the same go's if you whant to fit standard YPVS blockes .. Air cooled blocks will allso fit but are the same size as LC .

Thanks for the information Norbo,

Is there any performance gain to be had from the conversion or is it just for highly tuned engines ?

(i.e. is the standard 4lo reed set up restrictive on a road bike ?)

You wont see alot with replacing the lc ones with ypvs ones . If you fit V force then you get a good improvment . But you realy need to weld a little on each side of the barrels to add a few mm befor you grined them out. You do it with out doing this but there is a chance you will go therw. Just fit racing reeds they are cheep and do offer a little extra.

Thanks to all of the above for the advice.
The amount of work involved dosen't seem to justify the gains @ my state of tune so I'll stay with the standard reed cages for the moment.

In my opinion the YPVS block mod smoothes the ride out consderably and characteristics can be changed by utilising different reeds. I have steel in mine and it is certainly smooth compared to the normal LC pull. It feels like the bike has been fitted with Hy Tech racing reeds on standard blocks.

Lots of people have spare cages on here and you can fit a good set and open up the reed stops to about 11m from centre rib and a good aftermarket reed for decent results.

A tuned motor needs the bigger blocks.

Beast.

Just bought a set of standard 4lo reed set ups on the bay cheap enough,
I think I'll put the cash into a Zeeltronic instead, all the posts seem to indicate that you get a satisfactory return from the outlay.
Again thanks to all for the advice.
