Some time ago I thought I'd seen a forum post or a website where a fellow had fitted RGV exhausts to his RD250LC. Now I can't find it.
Does anyone know if this is possible and/or how much work is involved?

I think you mean RG250 pipes, not RGV. Apparently they work well and aren't too hard to fit. I think it was Mboddy who had them on his race bike. Try a search for 'RG250 and pipes'

Thanks Rich. Couldn't find it, too many pages to go through.
Not that it matters, I should really be rebuilding the bottom end instead of worrying about fitting an exhaust to a bike that doesn't go!

Here you go, you need to use the "search all terms" option:-

It's got to be the MK3 RG250 chambers, you can use any can you like but the MK2 andMK1 pipes are different internally and have the same kind of sound dampening material on the inner walls as you find on RG500 lowers.
The MK3 pipes are also great upgrades to earlier RG250's although you have to mess about with hangers a bit and, are an instant extra power boost to the RG500 as the RG500 lowers have all that stuff inside them as well as 2 /3 sections of over enthusiastic cone tapering in the reverse cones - there's even an internal reinforcing ring that needs to be cut out.
The Mk3 pipes would probably benefit from being cut in half and a decoke - many 250 gammas ran heavy on oil so the pipes are often in bad shape internally.

I have a set of RG chambers and was thinking of this mod.
How can I tell which model they are from?
Can't post a pic at the moment, because some @$$hole stole my camera bag from my parked car...

That's a hell of a question!
Unless you get the part numbers or don't have MK3 pipes to compare them to - you can't by eye alone.

These are MK3 chambers and end cans. Luckily I still had these pics as I sold them a few months ago.
