Can anybody point me in the direction of where to get some decent braided lines at a decent price? (No, I'm not trying to save on brakes;))

I like HEL hoses.
Try UK eBayer called "24-7-bikes", they were good value when I got mine 2 or 3 years back.

I fitted Goodridge a few weeks ago.I paid about 75£ with fittings
and 3 full lenght lines in Canada.
