Okay guys, my 2 RZ's are running quite well (still get too hot). I completely rebuilt the brake systems (changed all seals and hoses) and one has great brakes the other has a very wooden feeling. I suspect it might be the 20 year old (unknown brand) front pads that came with the bike. I want to change the pads to see if I can get better initial bite, so what's the recomended brake pads for an 84 YPVS? I use to love sintered pads, but have no idea what is now the rage!!
Cheers for comments/suggestions.

I did, there is almost no sponginess in the brakes, but you squeeze the lever and the brakes have very little effect, then as the pads start to heat up the brakes start to work very well. It's the intial lack of bite that I don't like and the lack of feel at the lever..

Personaly, I stay away from sintered and got a good feel with the organic ones, (when i had the YPVS front end on). Discs would last even shorter with sintered pads.

Get a set f Carbone Lorraines - there's a road version and a race version with obvious differences.
Buy the best - it makes all the difference

Okay guys, I contacted Carbone Lorraine and they only have 1 distributer in the USA, called Spiegel performance products. They tell me they will have to special order the YPVS pads and it will take 2 months to get them.. I am not waiting 2 months for a set of pads!! I notice that Norbo sells brake pads for the YPVS, organic and sintered. I generally like sintered pads, so should I go for the sintered pads from Norbo or do any of you know a place in the USA that carries YPVS Carbone Loraine pads or can get them in a week or two? I am also seeing if any of the UK dealers will ship to the USA, but like the idea of getting them from Norbo as he has helped a lot in the past.

They are still crap. You have to remember the present pads are probably 20 years old and have been left outdoors in the Texan Rain and sun for those 20 years. They have to be changed..

Just get the EBC organic ones and it should be good - IMO they are better than the sintered ones and don't gall up the rotors like sintered do. When you rebuilt the calpers did you make sure to lube the slide pins? Is the master cylinder the correct (5/8") one? You rebuilt that as well?
