Is it possible to replace the oil seals on either end of the crank without splitting the cases??
I dont have time to do a full rebuild but want to play safe and get new ones in before it runs a bit lean...

As above - NO. The seal has a lip on it which is trapped in a groove in the cases. Some have done a bodge job but cutting the lip off the seal and slathering Yamabond on it but it seems a recipe for failure.
