My F2 transmission is getting harsh since a few days.
Clutch is new (spring and friction plates).
The first gears engages with a big "thunk" noise like if I was driving a Harley. It used to be very smooth before.
I use about 1700ml of 20W50 oil as recommended by many mecanos.

At the same time, the (new) neutral contact stopped to work Confused

I've never dismantled the transmission before...

Any clue?

Are you talking about the wear on the contact faces of the basket?
And if so I am guessing this is going to help by allowing the plates to slide up and down more freely.
Thanks Jante hadn't thought of that. thumleft

Yep! Thats it.. they can bond just slightly in the grooves, and then the clutch will sort of "hang" and not free out enough to make the gear shift smoothly.. if its hard or impossible to find neutral at standstill this is usually the case!
