Rich Yes, easy to do. Once you have mounted them, theres just a couple of simple wiring changes. You will need to run a wire up from the CDI for the electronic tacho.

One last go at looking for the elusive great crested 31K clock surround, Saturday morning suns out so I take the 1 hr drive to the only bike breakers in Switzerland, they deal with old jap bikes so you never know. Walk in and I am looking at a very nice 250 LC in blue, when I`m asked "can I help you" So I tell him what I`m after and then he seems to mutate in to a stand up comedian! informing me that a set of clocks will cost me about 600 sfr about £300,looking for the camera I ask "are we on the same page here is that for a new set?" No new will cost you double that (he puffs his chest...We are 50% cheaper than anyone) by now his act starts to work on me and I find myself laughing at him so much that I am asked to leave the shop!
Still laughing to myself I drive back resigned to the fact that I will be fitting a set of later clocks.
About 15 minutes from home and I decide to visit my local Yamaha dealer for a set of plugs a to inquire about a new rear disc. Plugs yes, Disc yes no problem (not cheap) by the way clock cover........Microfiche........That one? yes that`s the one......99.9999 etc Well never mind thanks anyway how much do I owe you? We have one hear...."Sorry" would you like it? ummmm gee let me think "OK" he goes to look(my heart is trying to re-create that scene from Alien) and I`m thinking, knowing my luck the stock list was last updated in 1985. Thomas comes back....nothing looks at the screen and goes again......comes back nothing! by now I`m thinking I knew it was too good to be true only other people in story books get that kind of luck, he talks to the other store man and they go together...........almost 4 years pass and then like some sort of being surrounded by light Thomas is standing there with an original Yamaha packaged 31K clock cover in his pudgy little hand.
It was hard to walk out of the shop as my knees had turned somewhat jelly like, for me the best moment of the restoration project so far and I just had to tell someone!!!!
Kindest regards Rob.
