Rich Who do you guys use? I've cheated it up till now but I'm doing more miles on my own so for peace of mind I want to take out some cover. Green Flag have been recommended and I got a quote for £75. Do most of them cover a trailer too?

I've been using Green Flag for the past few years. Not bad, best of a bad bunch I think. Always got me home and not too bad a call out time.

They did take our caravan home for us last year when we had a blow out on the M11 with it. They were prepared to take it, while we carried on the journey without it. So that alone was worth the money.

booga Well I am with AA atm but have just found out that I get it free with my advantage gold account wit Natwest. Very Happy
I think the free cover is done by Greenflag though I am not sure. I have only jst reinstated my gold account.
I have also heard that Green Flag are OK.
Though AA have been spot bollock over the last year or so. Even went to pick my daughter up who had broken down on the M25 and she wasn't a member. Aparently it is something they used to do but stopped doing it recently.

As my bank account goodies include full AA services they have helped me out on many occasions - car wise!

As cover is pretty cheap nowadays its foolish NOT to have cover and a lot of classic ins companies include it as standard!!!!

AA and RAC do not cover the trailer/caravan itself, and you are lucky if they will come out to help you change a blowout on a caravan!

Try Brittania Rescue. Discount rate if you are in the VJMC. Cover trailers and Caravans with no problem. They use local garages for all recoveries and you get a feedback form after each recovery, so any garages that provide poor service will soon be kicked out!

They also do not mind old vehicles or multiple claims.......and also offer a European cover.

They are cheaper than AA and RAC!

Was with green flag. I changed cars and forgot to inform them of the details and bugger me if the clutch didnt let go in the newer motor after a week.Rang them and apologised for the not letting them know the details (a week had passed) and could they change it there and then and rescue me please?
They refused unless i also pay a one off callout fee of about £50.
It was an oversight on my behalf, hands in the air....but a week?...come on.
They wouldn't budge....I'd never claimed up to that point either.

I told them I'd rather leave the car there and walk home than pay that .Then joined the RAC for not a great deal more there and then.

But hey....i could have caught them on an off day. Rolling Eyes

Bonus was....the RAC bloke was an ex-LC proddie racer.

AA???

Alcoholics Anonymous??????

Rich - If you are paying a monthly fee for the pleasure of having a bank account check if breakdown cover is included in it.

I am with Lloyd tsb and I get full AA cover as part of the package and ALSO a priority service!!!!

I have unfortunately had to use the facility a few times but the AA got me home every time without charge!!!!
