hi lads i think i know what you may end up saying but let me explain the problem.
got a near mint 31k bike and loads nos parts fitted but need frame doing etc etc...
problem is this....it splutters from 3k up to 8k then bang fine all the way to 11k ...now this bike has 31W carbs with cough cough keyster kits in all 31k standard settings jets needles and pilots and air screws at 1 1/4 out ...it is ok only when 8.5 k in any gear and to be honest after a long hard 70 mph (honest) hard open throttle in 4th i killed the ign and chopped ...lovely brown plugs and the ends of the baffels are also nicely tinge of deep brown .
this suggests the mixture is all ok.
however bike is shite through the rev range till you hit full hard open ...
the pipes are 31k genuine but rest of bike is totally stock!!!! no porting/boost or spannies..
i think the 31w carbs are at fault and need 31k carbs and set them up.
ive dropped needles and made worse the raised to bottom clip which improved up to 5 k then boggs out...this on the 31w carbs
i am sure prob is
a,
keysters
b,
the 31w have restictions in the airways?? drillings??

any help pleaeseeeeee
or il add a wanted section heading 31k carbs needed Laughing
all the settings are all stock and carbs are mint outside and in and all clean minty...so not blocked etc etc
any ideas??? posted this as i have spoken to kev and he also thinks its the 31w carbs ...cheers kev!!! Wink
any for sale or the powerjets are goin on the bike Wink
btw been told the 31w fit 250 lc and work a treat and no 5k flat spot may try this out to see.
cheers
gaz

If you do try them, please report. I've a set of 31w carbs that I have absolutely no use for and an lc250 that's lame.
