What have I bought? Just bought a RZ250R 1XH May 1986.
As I haven't actually seen the bike in question I'm trying to work out exactly what it is.
It has the F2 bodywork, hangers, pegs etc but appears to have the wheels from an F1 (ie with the holes on the spokes) from what I can see the bars also appear to be F1 spec in that they are welded along the top of the riser rather than pressed as shown on the RDLCcrazy site. It is hard to see what expansion chambers it has.
As this appears to be an early F2 date, would it be possible that yamaha fitted the F1 wheels to clear stock or is something fishier going on here? ie F1 fitted with F2 clothes. The forks are silver with the variable damper bit written.
I'm not worried, just like to know.
Cheers Smile

Does it have the F1 style sticky-up offset fuel filler, or the F2 style flush fitted central one?

Hi, It has the flush F2 style and the side panels are the F2 style 1 piece jobs.
Is it possible to fit the complete F2 bodywork including tank etc to an F1. ie are the frames exactly the same with the same bodywork mounts.
Just noticed the indicator lenses are the rectangular style rather than the coffin shaped.

the tank mountings are different. So it's probably F2 style frame with earlier (V-heavy) wheels.

I think it should have F2 style pipes, but with removable end cans.

I thought the rear subframe is also different? So you can't fit 31K-style rear panels to F2...or?

Nope, F2 bodywork only fits F2.

31K bodywork fits LC2 and N1/F1.
