Anyone knows how many clutchplates there are supposed to be on a XJ600N 97 model? Im working on a mates bike, and it looks abit dodgy in there...

Only goes up to '95 but I don't think the engine changed much

Link doesnt seem to work, stupid question here:
Should it stop and start with frictionplates, or should it end with a steelplate before the pressureplate? My RD's are all ending with a metalplate before the pressureplate, this XJ doesnt...

Yamaha USA has all thier fiche's available online - most bits apart from lighting and emissions related will be the same - called an XJ600 Seca II, 8 plates btw.
