Now available rg400 motor missing carbs but otherwise pretty much all there.
£1000.00
Before anyone asks this one is spare so decided to let it go to help fund project

No only one and some crank cases with gearbox.
thats it.
only selling as big investment and need some cash in kitty to further projects otherwise id sit on it as can only get more in demand.

hmmmm.thats what I thought.....struggle to pay that for a good 500 motor... if you want to sell it you wil have to halve that..remmeber the pots, gearbox and other stuff are surplus...

He's not far of the going rate. I usually see 400's sell for around 800 quid with carbs, so it's a bit high. Will probably sell if he's patient.

sold a complete rg400 with mot few months back for less than that to another member of this forum 
the engines make more money in bits from my past experiences, even the 400 motors break down lovely

The thing is yours is a 400, not a 500. It costs a 1000 pounds to upgrade a 400 to 500 spec (buy 4 barrels, machine crankcases, buy 500 clutch and gearbox!) So yours is still a fair price for a 400, it's just that 400's aren't worth as much as 500's!! I think you are not ripping anyone off, it seems a fair price to me.

I have e-bayed 400 motors for over £800 and the seem to be getting thin on the ground, looks about right to me.
