How is it you never see many about, let alone any for sale?

Short model run, plus most people bought the faired F2 model.

Figures, the f2 was about 1mph faster.
If I remember right, even in their slip stream i could not keep up due to teh rev limiter at 9,500revs

There's no rev limiter dude,
It's strangled through the transfer porting and exhaust timing and pipes.

Any one got any idea how many N2 were sold and from what date they were sold from and to. I think the N1/N2 bike look nicer than there faired cousins, more agressive some how.

Thought the n2 was restricted by a rev limiter? Mine would never rev past 9.500, it would just cough.

Its a big misconception.
All the YPVS CDi's are good to let the engine rev itself to oblivion, some are slightly more agressive than others but they are all hot to trot.
They don't pull past 9500 - 10K ish because the rest of the motor isn't designed to make power that high.
Easy to change though - pipes, porting and jetting.
