Need the air con on the Audi re gassing after having it apart.

Anyone on here in the Midlands do it?

the gas used in a/c can cause frostbite on unprotected skin and will blind you if gets in your eyes

Rich Apparently the DIY ones are crap. The correct way to do it is for the system to be completely purged and the correct amount of refrigerant weighed before it is refilled so the correct amount goes in. Luckily I have a mate who fits out refrigerated lorries for a living so he did my BM for nothing Smile

Sorry, he's down South Trig so not much help.

Yes, the system has to be pulled down to complete vacuum to remove any air from the system before the system is charged with gas.

No not really. There should be a sight glass somewhere on the liquid side of the system which will allow you to see when there is sufficient gas in the system. When the bubbles are gone from the sight glass, you should be good to go.


Oh, and there is no use just re-gassing your car aircon (except in trigs case where he has had it apart).
Aircon systems to not *consume* gas.
If your system needs re-gassing, it has a leak that needs fixing!
