I suspect ignition problem on my F2...

Secondary is 6k ohms before plug connector and each plug connector is 5k...
so I guess the correct result, if tested as prescribed in Haynes book should
be 16k for secondary , right?

What's the purpose of this 10k addition in the plugs?

You really should unscrew the plug caps for a good reading.

Opinions vary... (like oil) but my guess is it's there to reduce radiated interference/calm down the EMF pulses.. which really mess up Chip circuits.
Once substituted genuine Copper Core spark leads in my Acura.. which resulted in a significant perf improvement.. but also destroyed a very Expensive (and completely unrelated) sensor from the EMF generated..withn 2 days. luckily, Warranty covered it's replacement, a Lesson easily not forgotten
Our bikes have Mickey Mouse electronics, but electronics nonetheless, so unless yr willing to face replacing those.. Don't dick with the resistances.

Finally, I tested with and without the cap... 16k and 6k so the coil is OK.

I'm asking because resistor are known to be plug fouler.
There is 5k at the connector + R plugs...
Is it common to all YPVS to use the 5K connectors?
Otherwise I would try standard non-resistor plugs Confused
