after sorting some stuff out i have been thinking about how much of a mission it would be to get a set of YPVS wheels onto an LC. does the frong go straight on? the rear would need brackets welding for the rear caliper/cylinder..?

I'm pretty sure these questions have been asked before but i wanted to get blasted for repetition myself.

Rich Front wheel goes straight in.

Rear wheel assembly is about 20mm wider across the hub than the LC so you either need to:

1) Open out the stock LC swingarm and run the YPVS caliper underneath and use the LC torque arm
2) Buy a Metmachex arm that fits the LC and takes the YPVS wheel.

You'll also need a YPVS gearbox sprocket spacer to correct the chain run and mount a master cylinder to run the rear brake.

cheers rich,

so not as much work as i was expecting. definately do-able [in terms of me rather than possible]. i'll probably look at modifying an LC swingarm for it...

are there any weight differences with replacing the drum for the disc / LC vs YPVS wheel ?

ooh, not buying any more parts yet until ive got the bits apart and binned the rubbish. [there shouldnt be much]

to be fair i'm still undecided whether to do it or not... still thinking to keep the standard wheels. is it much of a pi$$ around to align the caliper and modify the rear swinger? to be fair i might keep it to the original wheels.

with this modifying stuff i'm sure every combination has been done on one LC already, so i'm not after something that hasnt been done before, but i wouldnt mind messing with things slightly.

maybe i'll just stick to non standard colours and a few non standard items rather than a conversion.

haha!

its not going to be standard as in my opinion you need a lot of ££££££ to make it worth doing with more original bits. i just want to build myself a nice LC thats a bit different Smile

i dont want to go overboard on the special stuff tho
