Hi there,

I bought an ignition switch from evil bay last week, which was described as an original 31k switch, but on later inspection, it does'nt have the single bullet connector that my old one appears to have (it does of course have the larger block connector) Does this matter?..what does single wire do?

Patrick, have you got a spare spade on the block on the loom? Was the single wire connected on your old ignition? According to the Haynes manual, the LCll was the only bike without the Black/white wire running seperatley. Can't remember what it is, parking light maybe Confused

Hi there Rich, looks like b/w on my old switch, but the old switch isn't genuine, as the key does not have the Yamaha logo on it!!!!.

Thanks for your help everyone by the way!

Patrick

Oh and whilst your on, thanks for the advice on the reservoir paint finish, it was spot on! Very Happy

Now, what finish should the 31k barrels be? I've seen gloss and Satin...I seem to remember mine were gloss on my original 83 ypvs (but I was a spotty youth then, and drank too much continental beer) Laughing
