Hello,
I would like to buy something from UK (from a guy of the forum...)
I thought the easiest way is to pay it per paypal, but he doesn't like it, don't know why.
I suggest to send it per normal bank transfer. But he says he is at Nat West Bank and they don't do transfers (I don't know any banks, which don't do transfers ???)
He said I can send the money per registered post, but THIS should be save? I won't put money in a letter/envelope
So can anybody tell me, which is the best way to send him the money ?
Thanks, Oliver.
edit: I come from Germany.

ive sent money to germany in a registered letter for ebay parts several times and not had a problem. some people dont like paypal as its seen as invasive by some and it costs to recieve money.
international bank transfer costs £££'s so not worth it, but ive not known a bank that wont.

He suggest:
"send cash registered post or cheque"
What is, when I send it per post, it arrives at him, but then he says... hey, why dont you only put 30 Euros in it instead of 100 Euros.
Not very save for my side!
And I want to get the things fast.... sending per post could take a week

if you leave money in your paypal account and you have a dispute with a buyer paypal can freeze your funds or withdraw from your paypal account, ive also heard they can debit your bank account at will, but im not sure if thats true.

I wouldn't send cash. I onc sent cash to an eBay seller in Germany by recorded delivery. He denied ever receiving the money (100 euro's) even though I had proof that he had received the letter. There really wasn't anything I could do to get the money back (was not pleased), you might want to send a cheque (you can prove he has received the money), but often banks will charge to cash foreign cheques so he will then claim that cost and ask you to send more.. Do you know where in Germany he is, you might find someone on this forum that you can send the money to and they then colklect your goods and give the cash?

I think all these things with "problems with buyer/seller" and paypal are only possible if you buy things together with ebay!
But this is private.... so paypal would be only the bank which do the transfer on the easiest and cheapest way.
mhh....

Is it a well-known guy on this forum?
If so, you can ask other members for feedback...
