Here it is! Picked it all up tonight and its 99% there! all in a good state too.
not sure when its going to be started - i have stuff on the house to do, and i'm trying to not get drawn into the bike because the house would fall down around me. but it would be ok because the LC would be sorted. LOL.
Plans?
not sure... got some ideas but don't know whether to keep shtum or not...
Not going P51bombay NOS though.

I don't want to see what you consider bad state bits!

the bits are in a better state of repair than the 125 was. a lot better. and i managed to sort that out so this will be better.

No...I wouldn't if I were you....you'd have to try and slip that lot back in the canal.
Dont listen to them...you can do it....a bit of paint here and there can make anything look respectable...I'm not Joking either.

i'm going for VGC/Mint, and i'm going to take my time. there are a lot of parts that are servicable but need a bit of tarting up, and there will be junk. generally though i was happy with the overall condition - especially for the money shelled out.
SEB4L0 - K&Ns... hmm.... its either them or the standard airbox... not sure what to do as i wouldnt mind using the cones [one of them are junk anyways so i'd need to get another set...] i've heard they are a bugger to tune though.
i'll probably keep it quite standard as its a slippery slope with tuning and a lot of people get stuck with bikes that wont run properly because they have done something wrong... also, i dont know enough about the engines to do it properly.

Agree with SEB and Z1100 as it goes, that is one grim
box of bits, but as long as they're structurally sound,
anything is possible with the right TLC and patience,
and of course a few bob, look at the state of this I
bought last year, your lump is similar, but look at it
now, bit of PJ1, BBQ paint and a few S/S fasteners,
seals bearings and gaskets!!! An understanding missus
helps too LOL
Good luck with it.

thats what i'm talking about!
the biggest concern is the tank i have. its rough and i'm not sure if its salvageable. i dont want to spend ages sorting it out for it to just bloody leak. what is the best internal sealing stuff to use? or is it best to find another?
i can see rust through the filler hole and the seams are a bit rusty externally. its going to be stripped back to metal to assess how many dents it actually has in it and then i might decided to bin it or use it.i reckon if i used that tank seal and spend a lot of time with rust killer to flat it off, or similar it should be fine. aside from rust etc it looks useable... but i suppose the acid test is when its filled with fuel. the bit where the tap fits into seems ok and i was told that is a common place for them to go.

It looks like a great project dbanbery, do you ever wonder what the guy was thinking when he stripped it right to the frame and then stopped ? He probably sobbered up the next morning and realized that he screwed himself outta his commute vehicle for monday. So why does your bike have 2 front wheels ?
