I have just acquired a 1985 rz350. I have never worked on a bike before, yet this one needs some TLC to get up and running.
Im not sure if the frame is in good condition, and was wondering how i can check the entire frame to make sure that it is in good shape. I dont want to pump money into something without checking out the frame and ensuring that it is reliable.
Thank you all, and please be kind to the newbie!!

Give it a clean and get a wire brush and clean any areas back to bare metal to check. Common sense will tell you if there is any problem really, I have seen tubes rusted through before, you can get them repaired but is probably easier / cheaper to get a good used one, checking for alignment is a professional job that would need you taking it somewhere that has a special jig.
Other points to look for are repair jobs to brackets, missing brackets and seized bolts in situ.
