ok i got 3 sets of n1 exhausts here one set sits tight the other 2 tighten down to the head yet the pipes still rattle. i lookes at the tight pair and there is an extra circlip/washer on the side of the flange (like behind the lip the gasket sits on) is this normal and how it supose to be if so wherwe can i get them ??
final problem where can one source 'top hats' for micron gp pipes??

Are you using the thick copper round exhaust gaskets?
Top hats available from stinkwheels.

The problem you have with the exhausts being loose even when tight is very common. The flange that tightens up against the exhaust header should have a gasket inside it but they break up and fall out over the years and I don't think they are available seperately. Easy answer is to make a new one! I used a piece of solid copper wire stripped out of a bit of household electrical cable and twisted it up to double thickness with a drill. I then bent it into a circle and cut to length and fitted it in the recess of the flange. Tis should give you the extra bite so the pipes tighten down fully. I've also heard of people cutting a length of old speedo or clutch cable to do the same job. As above, also use the copper exhaust port gaskets as the white type are crap.
Good luck

Yep, use some copper wire or piece of an old cable inside the exhaust flange to pack it out.
