Hi ya'll .. me again with another mod question.

Snouting thru the tinterweb on 'Special builds' i have heard mention that a few folks have fitted ZXR 400 USD front ends to there 31k Valve's, pictures looked very smart indeed, so i bought a complete ZXR 400 front end (not received it as yet..) to fit to mine .. O.K .. so maybe a stem swap is in the offing, and maybe a little flapper wheel butchering to the Bikini fairing to accomodate the larger diameter forks, .. er .. new bracket so i can re-mount the original 31k clocks (anyone ? ) i am also looking at fitting an 18" NC30 single nut single sided swingarm ( any info?) to this valve/special, and to match this rear wheel would like to stick an NC30 front wheel in the ZXR Forks (any info appreciated ? ) - lastly a would like also to mount some Tokico 6 pots (90mm spacing) to said front end and wondered if anyone does a bracket to convert ? - any help mucho appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Rich Rather than try and fit an NC30 wheel to the ZXR front, it may be easier to fit an NC30 front end complete and sell the ZXR one?

Tokico 6 pots of a GSXR 1000 (last one before the radial ones) will go straight onto zxr400(Both h and l) fork legs with only a couple of top hat bushes.

Oh and 636 fork legs go straight into zxr400l yokes Laughing

mmMMMmmmmmm im thinking this would be a step back Rich, as ZXR400 USD are (apparently) a popular upgrade choice for NC30 Owners, who somehow engineer/refit the orginal NC30 wheel back in the ZXR forks .. hence my question .. besides .. how could you not fit this front end to an elsie .. its Lurvely Embarassed

Hey Dude, i dont suppose 'your mate' has kept that information of what was needed to get this done ? - i is a paint man and not an engineer so these things take me forever and a day to sort .. and short cuts to the goal are always appreciated Very Happy

That looks like L yokes, they have the wider stem. You can get an lc etc stem in there with a bush or you can use h yokes with just a stem swap and the bottom yoke opened out by 2mm.You can use a zxr400h top yoke straight onto l forks, then the centre hole for the stem doesn't need messing with

This is a set I've got ready for a project, they're 400l bottom yoke bushed to fit a thinner stem with a 400h top yoke. Cost £25 for the stem swap and bush.

Surprised more don't fit them as they're as good if not better in general than rgv forks, yokes are lighter and you can normally get them much cheaper.

Dunno if you know but if you want 'newer' calipers for the 400 legs you can also fit 2001-2003 GSXR 600/750, 2001-2003 ZZR1200, and RRY Fireblade Nissins, all of those just need a simple top hat to sleve the hole down from m10 to m8

To fit the Honda wheel to ZXR fork you need a couple of custom spacers and different discs.

Not sure if you have to be signed in as a member, but there's a fair bit of info on the archived 400GB site;
