I had some jets arrived today and the powerjets are different to the ones that were already fitted. I was about to send them back but wondered if they would still be ok. They dont fit flush like the last ones but do screw in ok. What d'ya reckon Question

Only ever seen the new type, and they would be fed from the top, so I guess jets are directional. I'd be wary, even if the hole is the same size.

As the fuel is sucked up from the float bowl to the power jet, I can't see that it would make any difference with either jet type. I would definately try it, just make sure the jet sizes are comparable..
Why are you changing the power jet? I know you set up WOT with the combination of fixed power jet and main jet (which you change), then at partial throttle you are just running on the main jet. Have you got some way of measuring part throttle running that shows you are too lean? I have the same carbs and am still getting the jetting setup so wanted to understand why you are playing with the power jet?

Yup, that's what I've decided. I think the new ones are actualy designed to run the other way and both jets are completely different on the underside, the original one having a tapered end that fits into the float bowl differently.

Thrasherg, I'm just upjetting a bit after fitting new pipes, having said that, I've just fitted dual stage reeds and according to the bumf that came with them, they can make the bike run a bit rich so might not have to bother. I'm hoping,(praying), that I can set the bike up on my mates dyno at his garage, otherwise it will be by plug chop and infrared thermometer.
