No news there, I think royal enfield beat them in the early 60's with a diesel bike.. I saw one on a rally once, the owner let it stay on idle for the entire weekend puffing out small dieselsmoke puffs all day and nite for 48 hours or so...
1200 TDI? Now whats the point there?

I was joking I hope....mind you they have got diesel engines quick now you know....in some cases more powerful than their petrol equivalent.
We drove a 2.? diesel Mondeo to the French Alps Skiing last year..a superb motor. I actually really enjoyed driving it. 125mph was no problem..4 up with all the ski stuff.
Its just that horible smell though isn't it...it stinks before it goes in the engine and it stinks after it comes out. Its hardly a Speedway bike on dope and 'R' is it.

Well.. Im not a big fan of diesels.. they have a narrow "powerband" wich comes in early and gives you the idea that it goes fast, but it really doesnt cause it all out of ommpf at 4K... I have a fairly decent HDI diesel in my van, wich with the chip and all does close to 150bhp, but still it rocks your chair from 1500-3500, after that its dead... petrol anyday... the bigger ones like Audis 2,5 or 3L are far better, but what about their petrol equivalents? They are rockets! (2,7T or 3,2T)

The newer diesels can rev much harder than 4k these days.
