I just fitted zeeltronic cdi vcdi and ppv.
Amazing kit!

Now I'm faced with this problem:
everything is fine under hard acceleration up to 10000
but the engine won't run steadily over 7000.
If I keep the throttle at 7000 steadily, the engine rattles.
After it won't go over 6000 and runs like s**t but
after a while it will climb easily to 10000 until I try to run it steadily over 7000 Confused Confused

I really have no clue on that one Evil or Very Mad

Yikes! that's a new one 2 things come to mind:
a) fuel starvation? As in not enough getting to the float bowls or the float bowls are maintiaing a steady supply. Float valves/float heights/ Fuel tap??
b) spark issue? try another curve?

Interesting…

Rather than speak of RPM can you tell us about your throttle position?
I expect pretty much WFO but then you never know Confused

Have you got a french word for "rattles"??
NB Je parle aussi français.
The term you're using might not be correct re: what you are describing in english.

Can you hear the "rattle" when you rev it cleanly to 10k? or is the "rattle" only when you back off from 10k to 7k? or if you accellerate to 7k from 0k, does the problem repeat?

Carbs were OK before I swapped the Yam bits for Zeeltronic...

A short question before I investigate further:
is it possible that a given ignition curve needs a different jetting?
I think the mixture is now too rich at 7K but I don't understand why
Confused

I didn't notice because it's going VERY fast from 7 to 10 with Zeel ignition Very Happy
From 0 to 7 it's OK.
The problem appears when I keep the thorttle STEADY around 7k.
Throttle postion is somewhere in the last third...

It's a drilled rotor so I guess static angle is fixed to 34.6.
New crank has been fitted recently by someone I trust...
I use 31k curve, #5 in vcdi.

You'll love Borut's kit!

Try swapping back over to standard kit for comparison to eliminate carbs

Drilled?? rotor? how does that affect Your static angle?
Loving the Zeel ? ..But yr machine ain't exactly running right yet..
Is it? roll:
Happily mine is ..so far.. Zeel couldn't be better.. but it offers huge potential for destruction as well.
Initial thoughts were that yer fuel wasn't getting in under hi demand.. but the rattle is possibly an incorrect timings issue..although that does not self correct.. after a few mins.
Test .. fuel flow out of yr petcock?
Tuned engines often need a higher flow petcock... I errr.. 'enlarged' my petcocks passages during it's rebuild... dunno if it helped but there are no issues.
IMO Not prudent to take it to 10k.. the rings flutter and the crank doesn't like it much either... a problem compounded by our inaccurate tachs... they could be reading lhigh or even worse; too low. Rolling Eyes

Actually it does seem like fuel starvation ,maybe fuel tap blocked .
When you say the engine rattles are you meaning backfiring or hesitating

It behaves like fuel starvation...but as I said, everything was fine the day before I fit the Zeel Confused

Not sure if its relevant, but ignition settings can affect the jetting somewhat if its not spot on...
