Hi all,you may recall I bought a ruff JMC swinger and done it up.
I fitted it to the bike(YPVS F2) a few months ago along with the forks, wheels etc.It all went together ok and everything looked fine.
BUT I have discovered 2 snags,which may call for a re-think!

1st problem is mounting the rear caliper,I can't get the rearmost mounting bolt in,the box section of the swingarm won't allow it.

2nd my Allspeeds wont fit! The mounting bracket rubs on the swingarm(both sides)

I think the 'boxiness' of the arm and It's size is causing me problems.
Any ideas?
Ta,Mike.

Rich 1) Fit the caliper to the bracket first. Edit: Just had a better look. You also need to countersink the hanger and get a couple of countersunk allen bolts. They are M10x1.25. I had to do the same on my LC when I first fitted the Metmachex.

2) Space out the foorest hangers from the frame.

Mike,
Rotate the wheel adjustng cams and it will raise the caliper bracket so you can fit the bottom bolt Wink .

Is it possible to mount the exhaust on the outside of the footrest hanger?
I haven't got to fitting the exhausts on mine yet.

space the footrest hangers out. I did mine with 7mm spacers cut from the ends of a pair of bent renthall handlebars.

Good thinking Howard! I will rotate the adjusters.
I have considered spacers, but they will need a lot and I'm not to keen spacing out such a load bearing area too much.
The rubber mounting bushes for the exhausts tend to sag and pull out towards the inside of bike.
Maybe a new set will help pull the Allspeeds back out a bit.
How much is a new set?
As for mounting on the outside,I think it will look shite.
Anyway a few things to try, thanks!

just bend the hangers out a bit! chances are its been down the road at some point in its life and they've bent in anyway. you wont put any real stress on them by bending them out enough to clear it!

Rich Only problem with rotating the adjusters to the top is the chain will probably cut into the bottom brace of the swingarm. It will also make the back end of the bike sit low and slow down the steering. You really need to run the eccentrics at the bottom. As I said above, the best way forward is to countersink the caliper hanger bracket and use countersunk bolts if the heads won't clear the arm.

Crisis, what crisis? Bent the hangers out and spaced them out with a couple of washers on each side.Lots better now!
Slackened off the clamps and rotated the ecc. adjusters on the JMC.
Hard to move them without the proper tool, but managed to move it enough to fit the missing brake caliper bolt.
Thanks Guys! Now for the next problem, see my other thread!
