Reached the stage of putting the wiring back on my 82 LC and cannot for the life of me get the indicators to work, as the bike was in bits when I got it I don`t know if they worked previously. Everything else works, all connections okay. Checked the flasher unit and the cancel unit by putting them on my valve and all okay. I decided to check the switch as I had power in all the right places elsewhere. Am I right in assuming there is something missing below where the switch rocker sits, where the arrow is pointed.

Anyone got a switch in bits they can check against ?

There's a little nylon block and a plated U-shaped fitting around the block.
I have a photo of my switch, but you can't see it!

I'll have a look in the garage and see if I have one!

Hopefully the U-shaped bracket has 3 square holes in it, if so, the block, has a spring with a ball bearing and some copper contacts. Photobucket is being an arse so I can't put the photo up! Have a spare if you need one.

Ian.

Here's just a few pics just for the sake of future post readers looking for info on what things should look like (not including dirt) . . . . (1982 RDLC turn indicator switch mech.)

Sorry Russ, stuffed up big time, the plastic piece I have must be from the headlamp switch going by Ron's pics. Haven't got any parts for the indicator switch.

Apologies, Ian. Embarassed

Someone must have a knackered switch they can help with?

That old Yam grease turns into a sticky wax after 20 years or so. Clean and lithium grease it and it will work like new.
