An awesome week end as usual....Thanks to Christophe and co for sorting us all out for Saturday morning...Nice one....no hassle..3 sessions saturday morning...superb. Me and Daz got our mad one over with...hehehe..fooking brilliant..not too many on the track and we shadowed each other around at a very quick pace.
Lent Dicko my new white spare RD500 for the morning...but needed down jetting...he overheated.. it was fooooking ott...so I rode it in the afternoon and sorted it jetting. Bike went really well. Had great fun on it Sunday....mainly because the ZXR blew up.... what a bitch....ZXR was quick too, smooth , going as well as its ever gone..lovely to ride. Just found out what it was though....Poxy sh*tty 1.25 O/s Mitaka ring pin fell out..ring spun..got stuck in exhaust port and trashed the barrel...it had to be a rear didn't it...
Saw Sebs monster...but as usual he crashed again...he crashes every year...maniac...
Rode Dazzers beast....he made me....that goes reallly well...not much on the track quicker.....reminds me must try those Pilot tyres...There was one thing out there that was just amazing...a sodding RG575...man that was quick..and the bloke riding it was one very quick guy...impressive.
Now then....who's this 'Wild child' bloke...seem to remember we was havving a bit of laugh downing some beers when someone..??? mentioned sombody call WILD CHILD..now who puts that kinda thing on their jacket....hahahaha.
Will Post some pics of what happens when a ring spins...when the camera batteries have charged up.
Any road I now have a very knackered rear barrel to sort out.....Hopefully PJ can re-sleeve and bore it. What a pain....
You missed another good un.....Norbo and co.....its was 30+ degrees ..beautiful days...a good laugh.. great fun screaming around with Dazzer...magic weekend.
PS .. I really enjoyed Sunday afternoon on the 'Sponge' (white RD500)....its an armchair, superb fun.
Oh yeah.... Stevie Jago and Mr Nut turned up They brought a TZ125 that seemed imposible to ride...very funny. I guess you just have to be fifteen to ride one them these days. We all had our moments but none funnier than Steves encounter with trhe 125...1 maybe 2 laps tops before just giving up...wah,wah,urrgh,,urgh .urfh..wah,wah. Fooking thing...!!!
Finally Jezzer...with the Marlboro Harris....over did the relaxing and cilling out I reckon...until late Sunday when he finally decided to lower the back end of his bike, and get into it more..needs his arse kicking he does.

Seb....those rings have worn out quick haven't they...I cant remember if you told me how many km they have done...??? I really wanted to see that thing go....but never seemed to see it.....you will have to stay upright longer next time..
The barrel shot is not that good...most of the damage is up the left hand side...where the port looks square....baaaaastard..

I thought you've learned your lessons with the shitakas... Im listening to your comments there, and have now yammie pistons in both my F2 and 500.. the old aircooled is on Wiseco, no issues there so far, Im believing they have a bad seize rep because of bad machining... (not following their enclosed instructions..).
Can PJ sleeve it back to stock size so you can run yammie pistons?

Well I have...but the trouble is Mr. Shepherd in his wisdom...bored out 4 stock size barrels to 1.25....p*sses me right off that.....still its done....so I thought for the ZXR I wuld re-tune the Shepherds and use them - after the Martek Barrels kept breaking ring land between rings...port too wide.
Anyway, I bought 4 new 1.25 pistons a while back so I used those....wish I hadn't now..the old ones looked fine except a light peppering on one where a reed valve broke up.
Gonna drop in and see Paul (PJ), show him all my shit barrels and see what he can do.
I'm thinking of Wisecos my self...they go upto 58mm for a RD500..might be OK with about 0.002" clearance. Do your wisecos rattle..?????

They rattle.. thats the downside.. they rattle alot on cold, and it settles down to a mild rattle when warmed up.. after a mighty trash they go almost silent, but starts to rattle if left on idle for a minute or so..
I had my barrels bored perfectly to spec that was delivered with the pistons, and they have provided flawless service for years... Always go for the matched and balanced kits, not the individuals for a perfect result.. alittle rattle on a racebike cant be too hard to live with.. just keep your pipes loud enuff..
The pistons are a few grams lighter than stock (and a few pounds lighter than shitaka), so it might pop a few ponies out aswell...

I got a few sets of std barrels left..might just put the whole thing back on std barrles and pistons and f***ck it. I got just as much fun out of my white bitsa at the weekend......
I have definateley sorted the 34mm KOSOS...they are a wonderful carb...dont know what I was moaning about...hehehhe...after riding Dazzers with TM32's i would say my KOSOS are twice as good. Dazzers got some low speed jetting to do....awful it was....he's on the case though.
The KR1's with stock airbox on the white bike are bloody good aswell. Had to drop it down from 135's to 125's but after that it was perfect.
Thats all the kit I got from MasterBillyboy which originally came from Daz of course (its a long story).
Boruts stuff is working perfect on the ZXR...I have the whole lot fitted. YPVS sorted... I just gotta do the ignition...currently running on stock curve. Still revving to 12 though...
Its great having a weekend where you can just ride them alot and get a feel for what needs doing....for instance, the ZX6R shock on the ZXR is crap...I'm reverting back to stock 400 shock I think. Might try the other one I bought but dont think it will be much cop..(bad advice i think)..I remember now..just because people race and are quite quick it doesn't mean they know anything.
I'm bored now....wanna go home and fix my bike....

Dazzer has helped me out a couple of times and his bike looks and sounds stonking! My RD's screaming like a banshee after his advice on airbox trunking and trumpets.
It must have released a few more ponies as the clutch is slipping a treat now
Quite jealous by the way, but glad you all enjoyed it.
