What do you remember from the time?
I remember it was HOT, GCE O Levels, Loafers and baggy jeans, mopeds, The Good Life on TV, Punk Rock, Nadia Comaneci and the perfect 10 & Alberto Juantorena at the Montreal Olympics.
Cheers
Rob

Alberto Juantorena ran like he was being chased by a lion, brilliant.
I think I was still riding my Raleigh Chopper, girls, swimming in the canal, orange jubblies, girls, going abroad for the first time, having 10 weeks summer holiday from school .

I find I struggle to remember details from then, names and details escape me, but faces and things are generally better. It's more of an impression, and if I do find a photograph from that time I can hardly believe my eyes - questions like - was that really me? did he/she look like that?

Well, done a bit of askin' about. Deffo 1976 for the ladybird invasion. I was only 9 at the time. Went on holiday to Port Erin I.O.M. and can remember the handrail around the ferry completely covered in 'em!. Aaaaah Raleigh Choppers! Had a yellow Mk1 then a red MK11. Used to ride in an ever tightening circle 'til yer flares got caught in the chainguard and yer fell off!. Had a lovely pair of oxblood monkey boots with bright yellow laces that couldn't be seen most of the time 'cos of yer 6 button waistbanded flares!. Two large side pockets on the legs just above the knee. Two buttoned flaps on the arse but no pockets, wot was that all about!!. Covering my skinny torso was a cheese cloth shirt topped off with a star jumper. Remember? Jumpers with 3 stars on. I had a red/white and blue one and my favourite a green one with yellow stars. Sigh. Even had a matching snake belt. Oh yes. Mother-cut fringe and having to listen to me sister's Osmonds records. aaaaaaaaaagh!. I still begin tremble if i hear the opening bars to Crazy Horses.

Finished my toolmaking apprenticeship, new KH400, long, hot sunny days, holiday on it in Cornwall with my mates and an adventerous young lady from Bath. Still think about her from time to time. Yes, she had that effect on me.
