Rich If it fits a Banshee then it will fit a YPVS as they share the came crankcases. Must fit in front of the gearbox sprocket somehow.

Don't need it. Banshee's have a very looooong chain run.
It often flies off in use..taking out the case around the Sprocket.
Doesn't often happen on a Bike.

Au contraire, Mr Bare Wink I have seen quite a few LC and YPVS crankcases where the small section of metal above the sprocket is missing, presumably from a thrown chain. Admittedly it's usually down to poor chain maintenance but it can and does happen on bikes as well.

Rich, It might be splitting hairs, but I think on motorbikes it's not a thrown chain, but a broken chain that breaks the metal piece (definately down to poor maintenenace) on the quads the chain comes off (it doesn't usually break) due to the long length of chain there is some side to side movement due to the bumps and this allows the chain to jump off the front sprocket..

If the guard is cheap, I would fit it, just for the additional peace of mind, but in 30 years of motorcycling I have never had a chain break and damage my cases!! Just lucky I guess.

Very true - I have one in the parts heap. Another reason to keep your 530 chain.
