My valve continues to be marginal in the cooling department, so I'm thinking of fitting an LC rad, as it's twice as big.

So, 2 problems I can see.

Plumbing, I guess I can leave off the expansion tank & fit a bypass hose as seen elsewhere on this site - that looks do-able.

Physically mounting it, anyone done this ? Is the top & bottom of the LC rad steel? I could maybe weld new mounting points on.

Finally, anyone got a LC rad they would like to part with?

Is that one of Steve's from Australia? I took a look, but my Yorkshire gene kicked in!

Drilling a 3mm hole in the Thermosta face is a common and so far trouble free workaround to fitting a Bypass hose on a Ypvs concersion in an LC (there's simply not much room there.. Much easier on a Valvie frame Although there is a Sticky (above ) on using a Tre valve as a Fitting into the LC rad header tank for that bypass tube.
Ohhh.. LC rad is Ali and by necessity thinish as well. Best , i would think, to adapt the frame mounts fit the LC rad rather than the reverse.

Which model & how easily does it fit?

I don't want to be making any chassis modifications at the moment.

I fitted one from VJ22 and that's a pretty easy fit, you just need a T-piece between the head and cap, and four L-shaped pieces to attach the the rad to the valvie frame.

i did mine to an f2 (86) and used existing brackets. i used a vj22 rad and made the brackets up as per the pics on this very forum, use the vj "T" piece and a mixture of rz/vj hoses cut down, doesn't take long to figure it out.....this way up Very Happy

ANother option might be an SV650 one, the pipe inlet/outlet are roughly in the right place though I doubt the mounts match up.

I actually need 2 Shocked Do you do a bulk discount? How much would postage work out at for 2

BTW, minor point, but does the standard plastic grill (N2 style) fit with your radiators?
