how many links should my chain have

got a new chain for my 31k valve its got 111 links but is to long by about 4 links is it the wrong chain or have i got another problem

Rich 99% sure a standard YPVS chain is 106 links

Bought one at Uttoxeter, & it was 106 links in the fitments book. Bargain at £15 as well, I think the traders were happy to sell anything.

bit off a dumbo question now but am i ok to take the extra links out without affecting the chain

Yeah usually a chain is too long when you buy it.

You can remove the extra links with a chain breaker, or if you don't have one of those, just grind the ends off the rivets.
