Hi all, I finally picked up my '85 kenny roberts from my dad and would like some opinions/input on some rear tires. The tire that is on it is not the stock size and was the one that was on it when my dad bought it. It rubs the chainguard and has actually wore a groove around the tire through the tread. Anyway, I'm going to replace it but would like some opinions on tires that you all like. I don't race so it would be strictly for street BUT I do live in the mountains and have lots of nice curvy roads to enjoy. Is the stock size 110/80-18? I don't have a manual or anything for it yet. I've got a pirelli diablo for my Aprilia RS250 but it's not mounted yet so I don't have any personal opinions on it although I've read a lot of good things about it. If anyone would like to share their thoughts or opinions I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.............Jason

Ja on the 110/80-18. Bridgestone BT45 here ... no complaints on the tire but plenty on not living in the mountains.

I second the BT45, I have them on both my RZ's and they work very well.

I run BT45's they are very good, Work fine on the racetrack too.
I thought they were a 110/90/18 on the back, not an 80 profile?
Could be wrong, who knows?

Same thoughts here. I recently got some BT45's fitted and I ordered a 110/80/18 rear but when I collected the wheels the lad had fitted 110/90/18. He told me this was the correct size and the only size he's ever fitted on LC's.
Is there a difference in handling?

Oi sorry if i'm hijacking the thread abit but i have to ask.
Someone said "110/90/18" abit up. What are those numbers for?
110 - 110mm wide?
90 - ?
18 - can't be anything but the rim size right?

I've got a 90 on the back of mine, but only cos I ordered the wrong one.
Can't tell any difference, apart from the fact it has upped the gearing slightly, about 0.5 MPH per 1000 revs in top.
Billy it's a percentage - the height of the tyre as a percentage of the width. Like all good systems 110 is in millimetres and 18 is in inches. You couldn't make it up.

I'm waiting for my new tyres today, my rims are at a nearby shop in order to get at par of BT45's fitted - and I'm going with stock dimensions: 90/90-18 front and 110/80-18 rear..
Hopefully I can get some traction from this:)
