Pilot jet range

I am running #40 pilots on my pwk's and it has always been spluttery from just off tickover to about 4k ,would changing to smaller ones make a difference in this range Question

Rich Have you tried turning the air screws out? Try it with the air screws 1/2 turn further out and see if it makes any difference before you change jets.

Set screws at 1 3/4 turns ,did improve.I had a play with the zeeltronic too,putting less advance in the bad area and it has made a big difference ,spluttering low down nowhere near as bad now ,really need to get some dyno time to fine tune everything
