combination of an f2 stan stevens tune , backed up by swarbrick pipes allowed the bike to bury its needle off the rev counter . should probably have upped the gearing . i shook this lot out of one of the pipes . the rest of the con-rod was hanging out the front of the crank cases . somehow the bike still got me home .

that was all from the left hand pot . i'm guessing the rod stretched . anyway the right hand pot still ran , no reason it wouldn't realy, and i limped her off the m11 .

When i snapped a rod, ruined a barrel and made a fist size hole in the crankcase I could also limp home on the other barrel... I didnt realise the case was shot before I took the lump out of the frame and a bit of the crankcase fell off and down to the floor... didnt manage to get the small end bearing into the pipe.. thats a new for me, my piston just stood still on top of the barrel with the downhalf chewed away... what a bang it was!

Good luck with the rebuild, no more matching numbers for you either im afraid!
