Does anyone have any experience with fitting 2ma wheels to ypvs frame?

Standard front and 3.5" rear.

I have seen it on 2 lcs, and both riders gave different opinions.

The Yamaha Past Masters racing club has managed to get a deal on 17" rubber, so we want to get 17" wheels on rds to take advantage.

Thanks in advance, Pat Herron.

Rich Hi Pat. Rear is easy, it slots straight into the YPVS swingarm. Basically the TZR is 4mm narrower than the YPVS across the arm so use all the TZR bits with a 2mm spacer on each side inside the arm to take up the gap. Chain run will line up so no problems there - sprockets are same fitment too which is handy. Use the TZR rear caliper and hanger but you'll have to get a threaded lug welded to the top of the arm for the caliper hanger to bolt to (like the 2ma has)

The 2MA front wheel is wider across the hub than a YPVS so won't easily fit the YPVS front end. Plus the caliper mounts are in the wrong place and you don't really want the extra weight of adapter plates on a race bike. Easiest way round this one is to fit the 2MA front end which is the same swap as the LC (pretty sure it involves a stem swap).

I was up at Brands with Tony and co on Sunday, shame you could have popped over and I could have explained it then Wink

Cheers Rich!

Sounds good mate. I will be at the Stinkwheels dyno day on Saturday, see you there?

Pat.
