greatings all
after owning loads of sportsbikes and owning most 2 strokes along the way ive decided to build an rd350 special. i want to combine a really powerfull motor with a decent chassis.
nothin new, i know but even a highly tuned nsr250 wasnt fast enough and a tl1000 was almost boring!!!
so my question is this
ive bought my motor and have picked which cub kit i want. but which chassis should i put it into?
i want either an rgv250 or cagiva mito. my main concern is does the mito bracket kit really hold the motor well enough to make a good handling bike? the rgv250 kit looks seems to have a far more factory look
any thoughts on this?
thanks in advance

Hi im no expert on building specials but is the Mito chassis realy up to the power of a tuned 350 engine? I really like the look of the yamarillas that stan stephens builds, Aprilia RS250 frame with a seriously tuned 350 motor, 120bhp if i remember correctly. All the best with the build, be sure to keep us posted.

yeah that was my worry. think im gonna use an rgv250 with tyga bodywork for the coversion.
does anyone know whether the rs250 cradle conversion fits the rgv?
ive owned both but i didnt take much notice if there was any difference in the cradle

Do a search here or several other places (cough RG* forum). Trinity Cheetah engine kits with PV will be best for road.

hey mate i have built a few specials including a rz/rgv front and rear and lc kr1s front and rear and my current bike mito with rz/banshee engine,
i can say that the mito conversion is awsome now while my overall look of the bike may not be everyones cup of gravox the engine/ chasis is a great match..the only thing i had to do with the kit that i bought is remove the coolant bleed bolts from the barrels as they were very close to hitting the new brackets i just bogged up the holes...as far as i understand it the mito was designed with other engines in mind for future transplants there is the same amount of room in my mito then there was in the original rz frame..!!

the thing u have to ask your self when building or even buying a bike is ...what do u want from it...??

if you want something a little different may be worth a look at the rgv vj23 frame rather than a vj22

after looking at both options ive opted for the rgv chassis. what swung it was a) steve is gonna start making a fitting kit and b) those tyga performance kits look awesome.
any advice on the exhausts?
