It looked horrendous at the time...... Shocked He seemed unconcious for so long....almost immediately. Strange place to crash like that..quite rare...made me feel a bit queezy....I said "dead" straight away to the missus. Wish I'd been wrong. But no replays, no info, and then reports of a serious head injury. The only thing is, I dont see what hit his head, especially on the blurred utube vids.

think it was the front wheel of the ten kate honda, ran into his neck, flung him round and sent him spinning. that video wasnt that bad and has been removed, but theres others on youtube and elswhere that show more, you can see his helmet isnt sitting right and it looks like theres blood on his forehead, not very nice.

I have it on sky plus and watching it on slow motion he was hit by Pitt's front wheel, thats what span him round. When he was laying on the track there was a big black tyre mark on the left side of his hemet.
Very unfortunate that he was clipped as it didnt seem to affect Pitt at all.

Made my stomach churn watching it yesterday. It looked seriously bad to me.

Not so sure I agree with that. They are right on the limit spinning the back tyre and it's quite bumpy there. Whitham had a huge crash there when he was racing.

F#ck! Shocked Can't believe it. Sad
I was also watching and of course jumped when it happened and it looked the most horrific...but these things just don't happen anymore, TT put aside. A terrible reminder of these dangers.

So sad. Crying or Very sad

NUTTYNICK Really nasty crash that, reminded me of the one where I think it was Keith Huewen? who's Bimota packed up and Kenny Irons stood no chance of missing him at full throttle, Irons was then hit by a following bike Crying or Very sad

yea nick remember that one, cadwell park bout 89 i think was horrible aswell.
i have saw loads of fatalities at our road races over here in ulster, and i have got to the stage of not being shocked anymore at road races, but seeing someone getting killed at short circuit is horrid.
i witnessed yasatumo nagai(edwards yamaha team mate) getting killed at assen wsb 1995 when i was there mechanicing for mark coates at european 250cc races (supported wsb then) and i will never forget it as long as i live.rip jonesy.

There's nothing you can say really, is there? Just a really tragic accident. I watched it slow mo last night as I couldn't work out why he was so obviously badly hurt after what looked initially like a fairly innocuous off, but it was clear from the slow mo that Pitt just couldn't avoid him as they were running so close and made pretty hard contact with him when he went down in front of him. Just tragic.

I hope it doesn't affect Pitt too badly too. That kind of thing must be pretty hard to deal with.

I don't understand all the crybabies that are screaming "Remove the vid, think of his family!" etc. Why not keep the video up and running so people can see just how dangerous motorbiking is, even if you have a full set of protective gear!
